Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP)
Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) is an approach to communication, personal development and psychotherapy that emerged in the 1970’s , developed by Richard Bandler and John Grinder. It focuses on the relationship between the mind (neuro), language (linguistic), and behavior (programming), with the goal of changing thought and behavior patterns to achieve specific outcomes. NLP offers techniques like modeling successful people and reframing negative beliefs to improve communication, motivation, and to create more choices in life.
Refers to the mental procedures and behavior patterns that we can change and recreate.
NLP proposes that our perception of the world, which dictates our feelings and actions, is a subjective “map” that can be altered. By understanding and modeling the strategies of successful individuals and using specific communication techniques, individuals can learn to change their own unhelpful thought patterns and behaviors.
