As a part of the modern method, Diwali is still celebrated with lights and diyas, but more so with eco-friendly material. In the present scenario, the celebration comprises of environment friendly products, like using organic colors for Rangoli, fresh flowers for décor, sarees and dupattas instead of ribbons for decorating the houses. Diyas made of local artisans which have natural earthen pot clay is used, that instead does not pollute the environment.
The modern day Diwali also witnesses a huge impact where individuals are now using less lights in order to save energy resources. Instead of using cheap plastic lights, people are now resorting to more candles and diya lighting techniques. Additionally, as modern times include staying fit and healthy, a lot of families now opt for low-sugar cookies instead of traditional sweets. Even firecrackers are avoided to reinstate a pollution free environment.
